Priest assignments for South Clermont Catholic Region

Priest assignment announcement for the South Clermont Catholic Region, February 13, 2022

Archbishop Schnurr has nearly completed the process of assigning priests to the Families of Parishes (FOPs) which take effect on July 1st.  Our four-parish FOP, including St. Thomas More, St. Bernadette, St. Mary and St. Peter, will be served by three priests: pastor Fr. Tim Ralston, assisted by two parochial vicars, Fr. Thomas Dorn and Fr. Bill Wagner.  Fr. Ralston is the current pastor of St. Bernadette and Fr. Wagner is the current pastor of St. Thomas.  However, all three priests will be assigned to serve all four parishes.  Additionally, a seminary professor will likely be serving as a visiting celebrant at some of the Sunday Masses.

We are blessed to have so many priests assigned to the region.

Fr. Reutter will be given a new assignment, serving as one of three parochial vicars in a northwest rural area of the Archdiocese consisting of seven parishes (labeled “NW-5” on the website materials).

A ‘parochial vicar’ is a priest assigned by the Archbishop to full-time parish ministry to help the pastor in any ways needed.

Please pray for your priests as they make this transition and for the faithful across the Archdiocese, that this pastoral plan may allow us together to continue to build Christ's Kingdom in our parishes and work cooperatively to advance the faith.

All of the priests’ assignments for the whole diocese will be posted tomorrow (Monday) on the Beacons of Light website and soon after on our own parish website.

On a personal note, I knew both Fr. Ralston and Fr. Dorn from the days we were studying in seminary together and am very pleased that they will be serving here in South Clermont as I move on to my next assignment.  They are good men and good priests and I am confident that they will serve our parishes well.
